Privacy Policy
1. What we collect
- Account details. Your name, handle, email address, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Profile and content. Everything you add to your profile and wall: photos, images, titles, descriptions, links, prices, and your plan.
- Activity. Likes, follows, messages, bids, auctions, and notifications.
- Visit information. When someone views a profile or a piece, we record that a view happened, a general referral category (for example search, social, or direct), and a pseudonymous visitor code made from the connection and browser details so the same visitor is not counted twice in half an hour. We do not store raw IP addresses in that record.
- Payment information. Paid plans are paid through Stripe. Stripe collects your card details. We do not see or store your card number. We keep a Stripe customer ID and subscription ID so we can match payments to your account.
- Technical data. Our servers and hosting provider may keep ordinary logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
2. How we use it
- To run Artique: your account, your wall, messaging, auctions, and memberships.
- To show artists how their work is doing, through the analytics tools.
- To promote the gallery and its members, including the Spotlight and the Artique channel on ISA Network.
- To keep Artique safe, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our terms, and meet legal obligations.
- To contact you about your account, your plan, and important changes.
3. What other people can see
- Your name, handle, profile, location, links, and the work you hang are public.
- Your bids show your handle to other bidders and the artist.
- Your email address is shared with an artist when you message them about a piece, and with the artist and winner of an auction when it ends, so they can reply and arrange payment and shipping.
- Your plan badge may appear on your profile.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Artique, such as Stripe for payments and our hosting and infrastructure providers, who may use it only to provide their services to us. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people or Artique from harm or fraud, or as part of a merger, sale, or reorganization of the business.
5. Cookies
Artique uses only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and a security token that protects forms. We do not use advertising cookies.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When an account is deleted, we remove the profile and the work and messages tied to it. We may keep limited records where needed for legal, tax, security, or dispute reasons, and for backups for a short period.
7. Your choices
You can edit your profile at any time in Settings, take down your pieces, and cancel your plan under Manage billing. To access, correct, or delete your information, or to close your account, contact us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, and we will respond to valid requests as the law requires.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Artique is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Where data is stored
Artique and its providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries where those providers operate.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we will tell you through the site or by email. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
